Industrial Salvage Operation

mvc-039sThrough the Industrial Salvage Operation, donated items are collected by our fleet of trucks, sorted, and sold through our thrift store. The Industrial Salvage Operation is managed through the work therapy/life skills activities of all residents in the residential programs. Running this operation, residents help to contribute to the organization while learning good work habits and skills. The Industrial Salvage Operation combined with The Mission Store has historically generated over 27% of the agency’s operating budget.

018In addition to items being sold through the thrift store, those less fortunate in our community are provided with emergency furniture and clothing free of charge. Single men and women are provided with necessary clothing and winter coats through our Emergency Services Program. The Industrial Salvage Operation provides a large majority of the necessary furniture, cots, blankets, pillows, towels, and dishes required to operate the Rescue Mission’s programs.

The Mission accepts donations of quality adult and children’s clothing, furniture, working appliances, outdoor furniture, and even automobiles.
