AmeriCorps*VISTA, Salvage Operations Resource Development Associate
Reporting to the Director of Entrepreneurial & Training, the AmeriCorps*VISTA, Salvage Operations Resource Development Associate will play a pivotal role in the transformation of our industrial/residential salvage operation into a recycling partner for residents in the communities we serve. This transformation will be accomplished through relationship building, event planning & execution, and innovation of services. Success in transformation of this aspect of our program creates employment opportunities for clients and bolsters The Mission’s ability to generate revenue.
Please note that this position is funded through AmeriCorps*VISTA. Accepted candidates will not be employed by The Rescue Mission of Trenton. This position is made available through the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Bonner Center for Civic and Community Engagement at The College of New Jersey.
New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows Program
The New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows Program is a post-college national volunteer service program developed in partnership of The College of New Jersey’s Bonner Center for Civic and Community Engagement and the Bonner Foundation. New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows will work to enhance volunteerism, develop economic opportunities, and address literacy and hunger across central New Jersey in the Trenton and New Brunswick areas. The AmeriCorps*VISTA will work directly at the Rescue Mission of Trenton.

Position Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S.
- BA or BS in related field, or some combination of related education along with a track record of accomplishment in business.
- Significant experience with community service and/or non-profit organization work
- Must be available to serve full-time for one year (40 hours/week and some weekends)
- Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize information to make strong recommendations for best effective practices
- Strong decision making and problem solving abilities.
- Strong organizational, follow through, and inter-personal skills. Comfortable with public speaking.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Use
- Valid Driver’s License
