Conference on 10th Anniversary of “Welfare Reform” a Hugh Success
On October 6th,  the Mission co-sponsored a conference with the Policy Research Institute for the Region (PRIR) at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School entitled "TANF at Ten: A Retrospective on Welfare Reform." PRIR is one of the tri-state area’s leading think tanks on regional policy.  More than 250 practitioners, policymakers, and academicians attended the conference held at Robertson Hall on the Princeton University campus.  Read More

Year-long Activities at the Rescue Mission

Fall Season, Annual Awards Dinner: For the past 20 years the Rescue Mission of Trenton has held an awards dinner to acknowledge the achievements of many of the residents that come through our doors. Awards are presented for "Resident of the Year," Distinguished Service, Outstanding Service, and Honorable Mentions.

Through the efforts of the employees of the Rescue Mission, ballots are distributed, collected, and tallied. The residents are presented with a special dinner which is prepared and served by the staff. Resident's Day is truly a very special event which everyone talks about for weeks after.

Sweet Adelines have been performing for over 15 years

Holiday Season: Always the toughest time of the of the year for residents of our facility - staff and friends of the Rescue Mission get together and plan several festive, fun filled, and definitely food-filled holiday events.

Area choirs such as The Sweet Adelines and Garden Statesmen volunteer their time to perform for the residents. An annual outing is planned for residents and staff to select the "perfect" trees for our courtyards. Toy collections by area corporations, churches, and individuals are organized which enable residents who under other circumstances would not be able to provide holiday joy for their families. Karaoke Nite for everyone to show off their singing talents. Door Decorating Contests, Holiday Bingos, and special services.

Summer Season, Always a Flea Market on our grounds --
Monday-Friday Sidewalk Sales and Expanded Flea Market every Saturday (weather permitting).
