Recycling to the Public
Donations are collected by our fleet of trucks, sorted, and sold through our thrift store. The Industrial Salvage Operation is a work therapy/life skills training program. Residents who are physically and mentally capable are required to participate in work therapy. The Industrial Salvage Operation provides work therapy/life skills training in various areas as truck drivers/helpers, store associates, shipping/receiving, online sales, merchandising, and inventory control. Running the operation, residents help to contribute to the organization while learning on-the-job skills. The Industrial Salvage Operation combined with the Mission store has historically generated over 30% of the agency’s budget. See our Annual Report.
Recycling to Those in Need
Through the thrift store, emergency furniture, free clothing and daily necessities are provided to those less fortunate in our community. Single men and women are provided with winter coats through our Emergency Services program. The Industrial Salvage Operation provides a large majority of the furniture, cots, blankets, pillows, towels, and dishes required to operate the Mission’s programs.
